Just a short walk from the house, Canyon Coaster Adventure Park brings year‑round fun to Route 66. It’s home to Arizona’s first and longest mountain coaster—a mile‑long stainless‑steel track that winds through the forest with steep drops, hairpin turns, and 360‑degree corkscrews. In summer, guests can ride down on synthetic tubing lanes; in winter, the park uses snowmaking to power real snow tubing and even Glow Tubing on select nights. The on‑site bar & grill makes grabbing a bite easy between rides.(experiencewilliams.com)
For a true taste of small‑town charm, Pine Country Restaurant on Grand Canyon Boulevard serves hearty American breakfast, lunch, and dinner—and is legendary for its homemade pies. With an ever‑tempting pie case featuring dozens of flavors (including gluten‑free and sugar‑free options), it’s a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. Expect warm service, generous portions, and the kind of flavors that make you come back the next morning.(pinecountryrestaurant.com)
A short drive brings you to Elephant Rocks Golf Course, an 18‑hole public championship layout at about 7,000 feet elevation. Designed by Gary Panks, it threads through stands of Ponderosa pines and offers cool mountain air, scenic views, and a fun challenge for golfers of all levels. The course includes a clubhouse with a restaurant and pro shop—perfect for winding down your round.(mygolfindex.com)
Start your day with a walk to Canyon Coaster for that first adrenaline rush—ride the coaster or tube down the hill, then grab a coffee or lunch at the base lodge’s grill. Afterward, take a short drive to Elephant Rocks for a peaceful round of golf under the pines—great if you’re easing into the afternoon.
By evening, head back downtown and reward yourself with a slice (or two) of pie at Pine Country Restaurant. It’s right on Route 66, just minutes from home, and an ideal spot to soak up Williams’ welcoming, retro vibe before settling in by the firepit at the house.
All three spots are verified, beloved parts of Williams’ downtown and surrounding area. They’re easy to access, memorable, and capture the nostalgic, adventurous spirit that makes Williams feel like stepping into a time capsule.
Pack your walking shoes, your sense of adventure—and save room for pie.
